There Is Comfort in Knowing Christ Never Changes Even When Life Does

Hi cheery friends,

We live in crazy times! I don’t know about you guys, but I am just tired of the noise out there. There is just so much going on with the world that, it feels like I have reached my saturation point. I feel like the whole world has been in a whirlwind, and it’s non-stop ,or maybe I am just getting older.. Anyway, many of us will agree that things have changed so much since 2020, and we seem to have reached a new plateau. Meaning this is the new normal, and even though social media users were trying to bring back 2016,  its not happening, we have shifted.  Sometimes, life simply pulls people in different directions. Priorities change, communication fades, misunderstandings happen, and suddenly the closeness that once existed is no longer the same. It can be painful realizing that not everyone is meant to stay in our lives forever.

Trends are constantly changing. One minute, people are obsessed with something, and the next, the world has already moved on to something new. It’s honestly crazy, especially when you add social media into the mix. Fashion changes, opinions shift overnight, and keeping up with everything happening around us can feel exhausting.

Last year, I got caught up in the frenzy too. People were panicking over the possibility of a social media app shutting down, and looking back now, I realize how consumed I became by it. In hindsight, it honestly doesn’t even matter to me anymore. What felt so huge and urgent at the time now seems incredibly trivial.

That’s the strange thing about trends and online culture. So many things are presented as life-altering moments, but a lot of them fade just as quickly as they arrived.

Then we have feelings, which can change from one moment to the next. Some days, you may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and even begin questioning your life’s purpose. There seems to be a general sense of weariness in people these days. I do not know if you feel it too, but I sense fear, disappointment, and uncertainty in so many people around me.

I have also noticed that people barely ask one another how they are doing anymore, at least not in a genuine way. It often feels passive, something people say out of courtesy rather than true concern. Some people are unwilling to open up about what is happening in their lives, while others are not interested in hearing about anyone else’s struggles or stories.

Because of that, there is this growing disconnect between human beings that I cannot ignore. It feels like the distance between people keeps widening, even in a world where we are supposedly more connected than ever.

Even though the world is constantly changing, Jesus Christ remains steady in His love for us, His promises, and the peace He gives. That truth brings me so much comfort because it reminds me that I do not have to place my hope in temporary things. People may disappoint us, life may feel uncertain, and the world may continue changing rapidly, but Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

You do not have to simply take my word for it. Here are five scriptures from the Bible that reflect exactly what I am saying:

5 Scriptures That Remind Us Christ Never Changes

  1. Epistle to the Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” This is such a powerful verse in the Bible.

This is one of those verses you want to plaster on your fridge or keep at your desk where you can see it every day. It is a reminder that people change and cannot always be counted on because of human nature, dating all the way back to Adam and Eve. But Jesus reminds us that His Word stands forever. What He says, will happen, no matter what the devil tries to do.

You can count on Him completely because He will never let you down. He will not suddenly switch up on you the way people sometimes do, the way Judas Iscariot betrayed Him. Jesus is steadfast, faithful, and delights in being someone we can depend on.

When I was a teenager, verses like this used to go right over my head. I would read them and think, “Oh yeah, okay,” without really understanding their depth. But years later, I finally understand what they truly mean. God has revealed to me so many moments in my life where His hand was present, encounters I had with Him that I did not fully recognize at the time. His presence has become so clear and profound in my life, and I am at peace knowing that He always has my back, is in control, and is always there.

    2. Another verse that proves that Christ never changes is in Book of Malachi 3:6, which says, “For I am the Lord, I change not.” God is not in the business of playing mind games the way humans do. When He says something, it comes to pass. His Word never returns to Him void.

I believe this verse is also a warning to us as humans that it is dangerous and self-defeating to keep chasing stability in people, seeking approval, and constantly looking to stay on trend. Instead, I see reliability in this verse, and a call for us to believe God’s Word and His promises. All we have to do is seek Him.

I remember the movie The Ten Commandments and how God told Moses what He wanted him to do: free Israel from captivity. Pharaoh was stubborn, as many of you remember, and historians say the real Pharaoh was even harsher than the actor Yul Brynner portrayed him to be.

The Lord told Moses to use what he already had in his hand: a staff. Through it, Moses wielded the power of God, and the Israelites walked out of Egypt. God made a decision to bring them out, and no one, not even Moses himself, was going to stop His will.

He is the Lord, and He does not change.

3. John 14:27 says ,  “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

The Lord is clearly telling us that there is a difference between the peace the world gives and the peace that He gives. The peace that Jesus gives is the one we truly need: an eternal peace that connects us to His enduring love. When we have the peace He gives, we become freer from hate, anger, bitterness, and the things that do not represent Him.

Jesus wants us to understand that the peace we try to gain from this world is temporary and fleeting, but the peace He offers is lasting and life-changing.

Do you remember that after the crucifixion, Jesus’ disciples were afraid and locked themselves in a room out of fear? Then suddenly, the Lord appeared to them and said, “Peace be with you,” encouraging them not to be afraid. In that moment, Jesus showed them that His presence brings peace even in the middle of fear and uncertainty.

The Lord is teaching us that where He is, peace follows. So if you are truly searching for peace, you must first seek Jesus Christ.

4.  The Lord knows that as humans, we are limited by our five senses. Because of this, spiritual and kingdom matters are not always easy to understand without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Yet even in ancient times, people understood through faith that God was always near to them. In Psalm 46:1, the people of that time declared in song that the Lord was their refuge, strength, and ever-present help during hardship.

This verse shows us that even thousands of years before the birth of Jesus Christ, God was still present with His people, protecting, guiding, and comforting them through difficult seasons.

Before Christ came to earth, the world was filled with suffering, oppression, famine, brutal kings, and affliction. People endured intense hardship and uncertainty. Yet even in those dark times, God remained faithful to His people. That is why this verse is so powerful. When the psalmist says that God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, it reveals the deep trust people had in Him despite the difficulties surrounding them.

It reminds us that God’s love for His people has always been steadfast. No matter what situation they faced, they knew they could depend on Him to carry them through. And even today, that same promise still brings comfort to those who seek Him.

5. Book of Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee.”

God is eternal. He exists in the past, present, and future all at once. Even though the world was created long ago, the major events happening around us today can still leave us feeling confused, uncertain, discouraged, and afraid. But this verse reminds us that God does not want us to live in fear.

He wants us to seek Him always.

God does not want us to immediately run to temporary comforts or distractions when life feels overwhelming. He wants us to seek Him first because every answer, every peace, and every strength we truly need is found in Him. He wants us to know that when He is with us, we do not have to live in fear or despair because He Himself promises to strengthen us and help us.

These are not empty words. These are His promises to us.

So seek Him when you feel uncertain and do not know where to turn. Seek Him when the world feels unstable and your heart feels troubled. Jesus Christ is someone you can fully depend on because His love, power, and faithfulness do not change.

No matter what happens in this life, Jesus is still my Lord, my King, and my salvation.

And truly, there is no greater comfort than that.
