1. Classic Ankle Boot

Ankle boots are like deodorant, most people have them! What I love about them is how they make it easy to transition from summer to fall without looking out of place. Plus, they go with everything—jeans, skirts, dresses—you name it! They are usually comfortable and so you can wear them all day and still head out in the evening, keeping you looking cute and feeling good.  Let’s talk about how to choose ankle boots. You have to consider your personal style, that is do you like a minimalist look or one that has flair. I love a sleek leather look as it gives me easier styling options. Then again , I like to be extra and may wear textured cowboy ankle boots when the trend calls for it!

2. Chunky Chelsea Boots

Let’s talk about one of my favorite styles of footwear – Chelsea boots. These are always in for fall and winter months and instantly elevate just about any outfit. How do you go about choosing Chelsea boots? Knowing your personal style goes a long way. These boots are known for their sleek design and elastic side panels which make them super easy to slip on and off. They have a timeless vibe and you can dress them up or down. Do you like classic black leather Chelsea boots or do you want to go bold with a fun color or texture. Another thing to consider is comfort. Because of the bulkiness of Chelsea boots, you want to make sure to get a cushioned insole and a good fit around the ankle. I’ve made the mistake of choosing a pair that looked fabulous but pinched my feet after a few hours. No thanks! Consider the material – do you want the ease of cleaning that comes with leather. Suede has a soft and cozy feel for when you want to go for a feminine look. For fall, brown and black are the colors that I tend to gravitate towards. Don’t be afraid to choose a bold color like burgundy or olive green which can rally make your outfit pop.

3. Knee-High Boots

I will be honest with you guys! Knee-high boots are my favorite shoe style for cooler months. I just find them very comforting and relatable. They are a fall staple and can be paired with everything, that is dresses, skinny jeans, skirts, shorts and even oversized sweaters. Also, they are highly adaptable – you can wear them to the office, and then off to the pumpkin patch by styling accordingly. These are available in suede and leather so it depends on how much effort you want to put in maintaining them. Also consider a flat or low-heeled knee high boot for all day wear. I like to wear high heeled boots for extra sophistication and to add height to my frame lol.

4. Combat Boots

I can’t remember a time when combat boots were not in fashion. I remember my first suede pair at 17 and the multiple compliments I got. These boots add a fun edge to an outfit. Did you know that  combat boots were originally made for soldiers. they are durable and resilient footwear and are ideal for rough terrain. Combat boots were very popular in the early aughts and I remember a couple of celebs rocking them with mini dresses, skirts and even combat pants, which I thought was so cool. Well, they are making a comeback and I am here for it. As people embrace who they are and their unique sense of style, they are moving towards combat boots for the edgy and flair vibe that they evoke.

5. Western Boots

Is Beyonce the reason why western boots are having a serious moment this fall?!! I ‘m just begging the question because these add a unique flair to any outfit. I love how western boots bring  a little personality and attitude to your look. You know what they say about the wild wild west – they say here respect is earned, not given. So when you wear western boots, people can’t help but just respect you because they don’t want to get on your wrong side lol.  You don’t have to go full country to rock them either; they look amazing with everything from jeans to skirts. I love when paired with flowy dresses and those beaded necklaces, just amazing.

6. Over-the-Knee Boots

If you want to take your outfit from 0 to 100, then over-the-knee boots are the shoes to do it. They add instant drama and glamour, making any look feel more elevated. Whether you’re wearing them with a mini skirt, a sweater dress, or even skinny jeans, over-the-knee boots have this magical way of making you look effortlessly chic. They’re also a great way to add height, especially if you go for a heeled version. Over-the-knee boots give your whole silhouette a sleek, elongated look, which is always a plus for short women. If you’re looking to make a statement this fall, these boots are the way to go! They look so good with oversized sweaters and skinny jeans. Let’s not forget how practical they are, – they keep you warm without compromising your look.

7. Slouchy Boots

When I think of slouchy boots , J lo comes to mind. I think I have seen her wearing over the knee slouchy boots and she was killing it. She is a fashion icon no matter what people feel about her personal life. Slouchy boots have that effortlessly cool, relaxed vibe that just screams fall fashion. The loose, gathered style gives off a more laid-back look compared to your typical structured boots, which makes them perfect for when you want to look stylish but still feel comfortable. Slouchy boots pair so well with dresses and skirts, especially if you’re into that boho or flowy style. I love wearing them with a midi dress or a skirt that hits just above the boots for that casual yet chic look. They also look amazing with skinny jeans or leggings, tucked in, to really show off the boot’s shape. Go for suede slouchy boots when looking to add warmth to your outfits.

8. Heeled Sock Boots
Heeled sock boots are a fall favorite for anyone who loves a sleek and unique look. These boots hug your ankles perfectly, giving you a smooth, streamlined silhouette that works with so many different outfits. The best part? They’re super flattering and instantly make your legs look longer, which is always a win! Heeled sock boots not only look stylish but they literally are like a sock, so you can always add legwarmers on top of them if you want to go for an 80s vibe. You can wear them with jeans and a cozy sweater during the day, then switch to a cute dress or skirt for a night out. The fitted ankle and slim heel add just the right amount of elegance to any look, making them ideal for when you want to dress up a little without going overboard.

9. Platform Boots
I used to detest platform boots of the 90s as they had that uneven heel that made the wearer look exhausted. Platform boots of today have been revamped and are sleeker than ever. The block works well with the rest of the boot and it looks stable and even. The chunky sole gives you a bit of a lift, while still being practical enough to wear all day. What’s great about platform boots is how bold they make your outfit. You can pair them with pretty much anything—jeans, skirts, dresses—and they instantly give you that “fashion-forward” edge. I love rocking platform boots with wide-leg pants or flared jeans for a throwback ’70s look, or even with a mini skirt and tights for something a bit more daring. Plus, they’re incredibly comfortable, even with the added height, which is a bonus if you’re out and about all day. Whether you go for a sleek black leather pair or something with a pop of color, platform boots are all about having fun with your style this fall!

10. Hiking-Inspired Boots
Hiking-inspired boots are a surprising fall trend, but honestly, they’re perfect for adding that rugged, outdoorsy feel to your wardrobe. These boots aren’t just for trekking through the woods—they’re now super fashionable and work perfectly with casual fall outfits. Think sturdy soles, cool laces, and a bit of an athletic vibe, but still stylish enough to wear around town.

Pair them with jeans and an oversized sweater for that effortlessly cool look. They’re also great for adding some edge to more feminine pieces, like a sweater dress or leggings. The best part? They’re ridiculously comfortable, so you can wear them all day without feeling like you need to switch to sneakers. Hiking boots are practical, warm, and give off that “I’m ready for any adventure” vibe, even if your only adventure is pumpkin picking or grabbing coffee. If you want to mix up your fall boot game with something casual but still on-trend, hiking-inspired boots are a great choice! Are you wondering what the difference is between hiking boots and combat boots? Let me explain – hiking boots are all about keeping your feet comfy on the trails—they’re lightweight, breathable, and often waterproof, with a snug fit that supports your ankles and specialized soles for grip on rough terrain. They’re perfect for long hikes. On the flip side, combat boots are tough and durable, originally designed for military use. They’re usually made to last and have a roomier fit for more freedom. They are heavier and so are not built for hiking.
