Hi cheery friends,
It is a few days after December 25th and I was just thinking about how magical Christmas truly is, and how I always look forward to this special annual event. I have loved Christmas ever since I could remember, from the twinkling lights on the tree to the sweet carols. For me, its not just a holiday, it is the celebration of our savior Jesus Christ and a season where magic fills the air.
There’s just something about December that makes it feel like the most magical month of the year, no matter where you are in the world. The month of December holds special memories for me as that is when schools in Kenya break out for 2 months, the equivalent of a summer break! I have great memories of hanging out with friends, and family during this time, with no homework and school schedules to worry about. The start of the year is January but why does it feel like things are brighter, full of possibility and more hopeful in December!
Maybe its about the build up to December 25th, or maybe the fun countdown to Christmas. I enjoy putting up the tree, which always looks like a long lost friend who warms up with decorations and lights. Then I play the classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the hundredth time, which makes me ridiculously happy.
I won’t lie, when Christmas ends, it feels like a little piece of my heart goes with it. There’s so much joy and magic leading up to the day, and then, poof, it’s over. If it wasn’t observed by billions of people, I would think it was a dream. The lights come down, the music fades, and the world goes back to its regular pace. It’s like coming off the happiest rollercoaster ride and realizing you have to wait a whole year to get back on.
This last Christmas, I had fun with doing 12 days of outfits to wear for the holidays. It is a time to shine in red, which has become my signature color! From glittering pants to funny ugly sweaters, my wardrobe is a love letter to the holiday. Each outfit feels like a celebration in itself, and it is always a pleasure to share the sparkle and style that the holiday inspires.
What comforts me the most is knowing that Christmas will always come back, no matter where life takes us. It’s the one constant that I can rely on every year, like a warm embrace that reminds us of what truly matters. Even as I feel the post-holiday blues settle in when the decorations come down, I remind myself that the magic will return.
Christmas is not just a date on the calendar; it’s a feeling, a celebration, and a reminder of faith, love, and joy. And as a fashionista, it’s my time to shine inside and out.
Thank you for visiting
xoxo
