And she lived happily ever after in her blue ruffled skirt! Hi ladies! As someone who is obsessed with fashion, I am always on the lookout for pieces that tell more about my personality. I recently came across this beautiful blue ruffled skirt on IG, and I just had to have it. You know when you are scrolling mindlessly ,and then you end up finding something that speaks to you, then click add to cart immediately! To be honest, I had done a browser search a few days prior about what clothes to wear on vacation, and so when this showed up on my timeline, thanks to Internet cookies and caches, I felt like this ruffled skirt was the color of a clear blue sky or the ocean, and would be perfect for my cruise vacation. What pulled me in was the voluminous ruffles detail on the side of the skirt. I also love that its of mid-length, which means I could also wear it to the office if I feel like it.

I hope you own a ruffled skirt or get one because you don’t want to miss out on the joy that this bottom brings. Just like tulle skirts which I have a blog post on, ruffled skirts are ultra feminine and carry an irresistible charm. What makes a blue ruffled skirt so irresistible? Well, it takes a normal , straight pencil skirt and adds fun and playfulness. A true departure from the ordinary, thanks to frills and ruffles.
There are plenty of reasons why women should wear ruffled skirts. For one, they are flattering to all body types and can actually add function to the outfit. If you have a straight figure and want to add curves to your silhouette , the extra layers of fabric can do that for you. On the flip side, if you want to hide some areas of concerns, then the ruffled skirt will accomplish that.
Another reason why I love ruffled skirts is how effortlessly chic you will look when wearing one. You can style them up with a chiffon blouse and heels or dress it down with sneakers and a tucked in t shirt and still look fabulous. In a world that is about minimalism and androgyny , ruffled skirts help celebrate femininity, celebrate fashion of the past and evoke nostalgia. Wearing this skirt makes me feel a blend of joy and confidence, you know, like a woman, so I can see myself wearing this blue ruffled skirt on a romantic date!
Ruffled skirts work in all seasons . In cooler months, pair a blue ruffled skirt with a dark cozy sweater , tights or leggings and ankle boots. In warmer weather, opt for light blouses, spaghetti strap bodysuits and heels. This blue ruffled skirt makes for a great vacation outfit, which is why I got it in the first place. Unfortunately, it was not delivered in time! My plan was to pair it with a white off shoulder top, a floppy hat and some open flat sandals. Oh well!
When you live in cities that experience harsh winters, you come to appreciate sunshine and Spring weather. So, this blue ruffled skirt outfit is me celebrating warmer weather and more sunshine. Even though this can be worn in cooler weather, ruffled skirts almost always work best in Spring and Summer weather. During this time, creativity, and new things are coming in and what better way to celebrate than in a ruffled blue skirt.
