One of the things that gets me really excited is the thrill of going to new destinations and a change of scenery . What I don’t look forward to however, is the hassle I have to go through, just to get to my seat in the plane! Yes, I am referring to air travel! Don’t get me wrong, I love airplanes and the views from 30,000 feet, but dealing with security lines and luggage is no fun. What can make the whole process tolerable is visualizing your arrival at the intended destination as well as what style you choose to wear for air travel. Yes, the best flight outfits can improve your overall experience when flying, so lets talk about it.

When it comes to air travel outfits, comfort has to be a priority. Consider soft and stretchy fabrics that allow easy movement and wont leave you feeling like a human sausage lol. In the past, I made the mistake of wearing jeans while travelling on long haul flights and I have regretted it! You arrive more exhausted , trust me the air plane outfits you choose make a huge difference. I also used to admire fashion magazines from the 80s and 90s that showed airplane travel outfits as high heels, long trench coats, the widest hats ever lol. This is not a practical look when flying and is in fact an added inconvenience. The most comfortable outfits for flights allow for easy movement as you go from checking in , to security and boarding the aircraft. For my trip to Miami, I choose these leggings, a soft sweater, high top sneakers, a travel tote and a cap. Leggings of any color are fine but I went with black because it hides any food accidents you may have spilled on yourself, and black is the perfect canvas when it comes to styling. These mid-waist leggings are made of spandex and nylon, making them ultra comfortable, I honestly didn’t feel any discomfort on my airplane ride. I also like the tapered end because it fits well with my high top sneakers. The soft sweater was really cozy and not clingy, the perfect top for transitioning from 40 degree to 85 degrees and still looking fabulous. You never know when you will get that extra cold ac draft so this soft sweater is appropriate .
Airplane travel clothes have to be selected carefully otherwise you risk having extra baggage with you on your seat. I like to avoid putting anything in the overhead bin if I can help it.
By the way, when it comes to packing, pick only pieces that you know you will wear. I have done this before believe me – packing 5 pairs of shoes and plenty of dresses which I end up not wearing. For international travel, you get about to carry 2 bags weighing 50 pounds each with a small amount added to reach 75 pounds as a max. For US domestic travel, I find myself paying for a checked bag . So to make air travel easy, be wise about what’s going on the journey with you otherwise you will pay a hefty price plus the luggage will be heavy to lug around, ugh not fun. Leave room to carry souvenirs from your trip!
You are at the security checkpoint and they want you to take off your shoes and you want to cry, but that will make you look suspicious. For air travel, invest in comfy footwear, preferably sneakers, which are a popular choice and for good reason. They give you great support and cushioning which will come in handy if they do a last minute gate change ,and you have to walk a while.I chose these high top sneakers and I have to rave about how comfortable they are. I walked a while and didn’t endure foot pain nor did I feel the need to remove them once I was seated.
The best travel tote for an airplane needs to be stylish and functional. I want a bag that has different compartments and is large enough to carry my essentials. A top zipper is a must to secure important documents and gadgets.

Lastly, go with a relaxed attitude. Air travel is unpredictable and you will have to go with the flow so that you can have a memorable trip from start to finish. Happy travels
